International House is an on-campus housing facility for the International students. However, due to its limited capacity, I-House cannot accommodate all international students. Thus two-thirds of our international students are living off-campus apartments. Application for I-House is accepted at each faculty offices in July and January. Period of stay is not more than twelve months. Permitted residents should follow the move-in and move-out schedules designated by the University.

The Student Dormitories are mainly for Japanese undergraduate students. Four or two students share one room. The men's dormitory (Sogen-ryo) accommodates 346 students, and the women's dormitory ( Yugen-ryo) accommodates 74 students. You should keep in mind that you share a room with other Japanese students. For the period of application and further information, please contact the Student Welfare Division at the Student Affairs Department.
To rent an apartment in Japan, you need a guarantor to co-sign the contract. If you have difficulties to find a guarantor, you can apply for gComprehensive Renterfs Insurance for Foreign Students,h organized by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services. International students joining this scheme give both peace of mind to, and lighten the finance load of their guarantor, enabling students to gain somebody who will act as their guarantor.
Insurance coverage options include: 1. liability 2. disability after injuries 3. compensation to guarantor, and others.
Insurance fees are: Course A. 4,500 yen for one year and Course B. 9,000 yen for two years.
