  • Entrance examinations are generally taken by the applicants staying in Japan who have finished Japanese language training courses or research students who have completed their terms.
Applicants who stay outside of Japan must come to take the examinations under a tourist or other visa status. Since a tourist visa cannot be changed to a foreign student visa while in this country, students who are accepted into the graduate school must return to their home country to obtain a foreign student visa and then re-enter Japan.
  • Entrance examinations are held in Japanese with Japanese students. Therefore, applicants are required to have sufficient Japanese ability. Some departments in particular have special procedures for admitting international students. Please make inquiries concerning these procedures to the graduate school in which you wish to enroll.
  • The entrance examinations will test not only the academic ability of the major field, but also proficiency in Japanese or a language (mainly English) other than the native language. An advanced level of foreign language such as English is required.
