Credited Auditors

1. Credited Auditors

  • Credited Auditors are specially registered non-degree students, who are admitted to the University after selection. In this program, students may take classes in the undergraduate courses. Some classes may not be available if enrollment capacity is full.
    Credit Auditors who reach the passing grade in the course will earn credit.
    Credit Auditors also have the opportunity to apply for a bachelor's degree through the National Institution on Academic Degrees if he/she meets the requirements.
  • Graduate Credited Auditors can take classes in graduate schools. Some classes may not be available if enrollment capacity is full.

2. Application

  • Application forms are available at any time.
  • Applicants need to be in Japan with residence status. ("The Certificate of Alien Registration" is one of the required documents.)
  • Those who whish to change to a foreign student (college student) visa must take more than 10 hours of classes per week. However, there may be a case that a foreign student (college student) visa is not issued even to those who meet the condition. Applicants are advised to contact the Regional Immigration Bureau.

3. Schedule

  • Research students may enroll in April or October.
  • Application periods are at the beginning of April and the beginning of October.

4. Eligibility

Undergraduates

  • Persons who have graduated from senior high school.
  • Persons who have completed 12 years of school education.
  • Persons who have been recognized equivalent to the graduates from senior high schools.
  • Persons who have completed 12 years of school education outside of Japan.

Master course and Pre-doctoral (the first two year) course

  • Persons who have graduated from a university.
  • Persons who hold a bachelor's degree.
  • Persons who have completed 16 years of school education outside of Japan.
  • Persons who have been enrolled in a university in Japan for more than 3 years, or who have completed 15 years of education outside of Japan, and who have been recognized by the graduate school of Saitama University to have an excellent scholastic record for the prescribed credits.
  • Persons recognized by the graduate school of Saitama University to have academic ability equivalent or superior to a master degree's holder.

Doctoral course

  • Persons who hold a master's degree.
  • Persons who hold a degree equivalent to a master's degree.
  • Persons who are recognized by the graduate school of Saitama University to have academic ability equivalent or superior to a master degree's holder.

Note: As the conditions for qualification vary among the faculties and graduate schools, applicants are advised to consult with each faculty in advance.
